It had been a rather boring day for you. Deciding to finally get off your lazy bum, you grabbed a (f/c) hoodie and headed out the door. Seemed like a nice afternoon to take a little stroll.
About a mile later, you looked up at the sky. Dark gray clouds were starting to come together. "Oh great, it's gonna rain..." You said to no one in particular. No sooner than the words rolled off your tongue, it started to pour. Good thing you had grabbed your hoodie before leaving. Also, you were only a block away from your buddy, and long time crush, Ludwig's house. Breaking into a sprint, the rain came down even harder.
Finally reaching your destination, you pounded your fist on the door. Ludwig himself opened it. "______? Vhat are you doing vandering around outside in zhe rain?" he questioned as he moved to the side to let you in. "I wasn't wandering around. I was just taking a walk when I started raining all of a sudden." You explained while removing the wet hoodie from your body. A bit of your shirt rose along with it, exposing your body to the German, which caused a blush to creep upon his face.
After hanging the article of clothing near the door to dry, you sat down on his soft couch. "Sorry I'm here unexpected. I'll just leave when the rain lets up." Germany shook his head. "It's fine, ______." You smiled as he took his seat next to you and pick up a book. "Watcha reading, Luddy?" "Just a book." Rolling your eyes, you tried to read the title on the cover, but it was in German. Sighing defeatedly, you occupied yourself by watching TV.
Meanwhile outside, the storm was getting worse. Thunder started to rumble and lightning flashed, brightening he darkening skies when it did.
"Hey, Ludwig, do you-" At the moment, there was a loud boom of thunder, causing you to squeak and go silent. Germany raised an eyebrow. "Vhat vere you saying?" Before saying a single word, heavy thunder boomed again and lightning flashed. Without thinking, you flung yourself into Germany's lap and clung to him. Man, you hated storms. They terrified you. The German on the other hand had frozen, not expecting such I thing from you.
"Are you alright, ______?" asked the worried country. You nodded slightly, still not moving away from the man. He thanked the world that you couldn't see his face; it was as red as his brother's crimson eyes. More deep rumbles of thunder and crackling lightning occurred, causing the lights to go out, which surprisingly didn't bother you at all. You whimpered and buried your face in the man's neck. Suddenly you felt strong but gentle arms pull you into a warm embrace.
"I see. You're afraid of zhe storm." Germany said. It was true, you weren't afraid of bugs, snakes, Slenderman, or the dark. But when it came to storms, the scared the living crap out of you. "Don't vorry, I'm here." Ludwig reassured, stroking your soft (h/c) hair. Throughout the rest of the storm, he continued to comfort you while whispering sweet reassurances.
Realizing that the storm had finally passed and the lights were back on, you pulled away from each other, blushes dusting both of your faces. There was a small silence between you until Germany spoke up. "I didn't know you were afraid of storms..." Embarrassed, you looked away, now that your little secret was revealed. "Yeah, but it's stupid..." "It's not stupid." Moving your gaze back to him, you found him looking deep into your eyes.
"Being scared of somezhing isn't stupid." "But, why do you care so much?" The German nation leaned in close, his lips ghosting over yours. "Because... Ich liebe dich." Gentle lips were pressed against yours as you immediately returned the kiss. "Ich liebe dich auch," you said when the two of you pulled away for much needed air.
"Now I have a big, tough boyfriend to protect me during storms from now on." Germany chuckled before placing a sweet kiss on your forehead. "Yes, liebing, you do."
